How The Breed has Grown and Changed
My first Australian Cattle Dog was named Bubbles, and that was over 30 years — on our little ranchette and continuing through family life, farming, everything in between and now grandparenting.
I have watched something wonderful happened.
As more people have discovered just how extraordinary this breed truly is.
ACDs have moved off remote cattle stations and into homes, trails, studios, movies, TV shows and family life — not because the breed has changed, but because people have finally caught up to who these dogs have always been.
Today, you’ll find cattle dogs who herd, compete, hike, snuggle, supervise the entire household… and still somehow run the operation like a ranch — whether there’s stock around or not.
What hasn’t changed is their heart.
They are still loyal to the core, intelligent to their bones, and deeply relational by nature. They don’t belong in the background of life — they want to be in it with you.

Lets start with ~ ACD Lingo: What We Really Call Them
(Because “Australian Cattle Dog” is just their formal name…)
Nicknames & Affectionate Slang
Velcro-Raptor – because they cling to you… and occasionally shred your shoelaces and more...
Blue or Red Heeler – the classic nicknames based on coat color.
Queensland Heeler / Hall’s Heeler – historical names from their Aussie roots.
Land Shark – that puppy phase when those little jaws of steel meet your pant or legs...
Shadow with Teeth – because they follow you everywhere, usually with a toy or stick.
Four-Pawed Philosopher – they’re constantly observing, calculating, and one step ahead.
The Thinker with Fur – because they don’t just obey… they reason, and you might be wrong
Farm Manager in Training – they’ll try to supervise the goats, kids, and you.
The Velcro Soulmate – that one dog who insists on being in EVERY single part of your day.
Zoom-Goblin – for those 30-second bursts of chaos when they need to run it out.
Dirt Therapist – they love to dig, “help,” and occasionally redesign your garden beds.

Born September 9 and raised on our small working farmstead, these pups are growing strong, confident, and social — the kind of Australian Cattle Dogs that thrive anywhere from ranch to family home.
We’re not about fancy papers. We’re about healthy, hardy, heart-driven dogs — bred for instinct, intelligence, and loyalty. If you want a real partner, not a showpiece, these are your kind of dogs.
Their parents live the life they were bred for — they guard, herd, and hike with us daily. Scooter, the dad, is steady and responsive. Tucker, the mom, is loving and quick to greet you with that classic heeler grin.
The pups are eating well, playing in open space, and learning what balance, confidence, and connection look like from day one.
We feed cooked food alongside quality kibble — because we believe resilience starts from the inside out.
-1st and 2nd vaccines done.
-Tails natural — we don’t dock.
-Farm-raised for heart, health, and hardiness.
They’ll be ready for forever homes right around the first week of Nov.

MissT Cowgirl - Girl - Now Chewbi
- Chewbi is with our son. He is a Marine Biologist, she is as active as we suspected ..... when she is with us, she plays with her Dad all day long!!
Temperament:
Loving, energetic, and bright-minded.*
Natural qualities:
MissT Cowgirl is curious about everything — she wants to know how the world works and where she fits within it. She’s affectionate and joyful, with a spark that makes her a natural adventure companion. She loves running, exploring, and collecting sticks, but even more, she loves her people.
As a tiny puppy, she would sploot and belly-crawl toward her humans in pure happiness — and that heart-forward sweetness has remained right alongside her eagerness to move.
Best home fit:
MissT would be happiest with an active person, homestead, ranch, or outdoor-minded family who enjoys engagement, movement, and shared experience. If she’s like her mother, she’ll have a gentle mouth — capable, but kind.
Clementine- Girl -

Grounded, affectionate, and quietly confident.*
Natural qualities:
Clementine sits beautifully between her two sisters — balanced and warm, with both a peaceful heart and a curious spirit. She’s affectionate without overwhelming, observant without being shy, and playful when invited while content to simply be.
She has a soft steadiness about her that feels mature beyond her age — and a way of making you feel seen when she looks at you.
Best home fit:
Clementine would flourish in many kinds of homes — from active families to quieter households — as long as connection and presence are part of daily life. She’s a wonderful middle ground for someone looking for both companionship and light adventure.
