Who We Are

The Path of Practice was created by Terra and Motoshi Kosako.

As two people deeply engaged in the ongoing practice of living consciously, creatively, and responsibly within real life.

Over the years, our paths moved through many worlds:

  • contemplative practice

  • music and artistic expression

  • sustainable

  • living and ecology

  • nervous system awareness

  • symbolism and ritual

  • food, vitality, and holistic health

  • community building

  • education and teaching

and the ongoing question of how to live meaningfully without losing yourself to systems, identities, or performance

Some of those experiences were beautiful.

Some were difficult.

Many taught us discipline and depth.

Others taught us the importance of discernment.

Again and again, we noticed something:

Many spaces that begin with healing, wisdom, or growth slowly

drift toward dependency, performance, certainty, or hierarchy.

People stop trusting their own observation.

Their own experience.

Their own capacity to think and participate consciously.

The Path of Practice grew from a desire to create something different.

Not a system people disappear into.

But a space that helps people return more fully to their own lives.

What Matters to Us

We care deeply about:

  • living in relationship with nature

  • meaningful and embodied practice

  • creativity and beauty

  • conscious participation in everyday life

  • discernment over blind belief

  • community without loss of individuality

  • learning that can actually be lived

  • warmth, humanity, and honesty

We believe wisdom matters most when it becomes practice.

Not just something spoken about.

But something expressed through:

  • how we care for our homes

  • how we treat people

  • how we engage with those younger and older

  • how we respond to difficulty

  • how we participate in community

  • how we treat ourselves

  • how we nourish body, mind, and spirit

  • and how we continue learning through real life itself

Why We Created The Path of Practice

We did not want to create another endless content platform.

Or another space built around constant urgency, branding, and self-optimization.

We wanted to build something slower.

More human.

More relational.

We also wanted to create a place where the remarkable people, teachers, artists, practitioners, cultivaters, healers, and thinkers we have encountered throughout our lives could be shared and remembered.

Again and again, we found ourselves meeting people doing deeply meaningful work quietly and sincerely — often outside of mainstream attention.

People carrying wisdom through craft, practice, kindness, discipline, creativity, stewardship, and lived experience.

Part of The Path of Practice exists to create space for those voices as well.

Not as gurus to follow blindly.

But as fellow human beings with something genuine to offer.

A space where people can explore ideas without pressure to adopt identities.

A place where curiosity is welcome.

Where questioning is allowed.

Where people can take what is meaningful and integrate it into their own lives.

Some people leave one system only to search for another.

We are more interested in helping people develop the ability to stand on their own.

Not alone.

But consciously.

The Hearts Behind This Work

At the center of this project is a simple belief:

Life itself is the practice.

Not removed from ordinary living.

But discovered within it.

In relationships.

In creativity.

In nourishment.

In grief.

In responsibility.

In wonder.

In the way we choose to meet the lives we already have.

And also:

life is hard.

life is short.

and there still needs to be room for warmth, humor, beauty, play, and joy.

That spirit lives quietly underneath everything we create here.

The Path of Practice is still unfolding.

Like a garden being tended slowly and intentionally over time.

The roots are real.

And we are grateful to share this path with people who value awareness, discernment, meaningful practice, beauty, and conscious living.

More than anything, we hope this space feels welcoming.

Not performative.

Not pressured.

But grounded, human, thoughtful, and alive.

A place where people can arrive as they are.

Breathe.

Explore.

Rest.

Question.

Learn.

And yes, even challenge themself.

All while slowly discover what genuinely nourishes them.

Take what is useful.

Stay connected to real life.

Keep what proves true through lived experience.

And make room, along the way, for warmth, wonder, and joy.

Thank you for being here.

We are grateful to walk beside you.
